Our Meetings Cover EVERYTHING
Feb 28, 2023You’ll Never Believe What We Cover In Our Team
Meetings – Our Competitors Sure Don’t!
But As Believers, It’s The Most Important
Work We’ll Ever Do In Our Lives
When we created Clemens Home Solutions back in 1998, helping Muncie homeowners with their exterior remodels was only part of the story. While earning enough money to care for our families and allow our workers to do the same is great, we hold a deeper purpose in our hearts.
We want our efforts to improve our clients’ lives, so we proudly use the fruits of our labor to serve the Muncie community. We’ve been lucky enough to fulfill those original goals from day one and have since expanded our concept of service within our faith.
Meetings With A Greater Purpose
Meetings are a way of life if you want to keep your company running smoothly. There are weekly meetings to nip things in the bud before they become trends and monthly meetings for more intense training. We even shut down for a full week to really explore our true purpose as an organization.
A while back, we realized that our meetings lacked an important element. This realization occurred, you guessed it, during a weekly meeting.
So, we hashed it out and came up with an opening series of questions that now define the true purpose of every meeting we have.
- Why do we exist?
- How do we behave?
- What is it that we do?
- How will we succeed?
- What’s most important right now?
The answers to the first four questions are always the same.
- We exist to represent Christ in our community.
- We behave with gratitude, a positive attitude, and personal responsibility.
- We do exterior remodeling on residential homes for Muncie area homeowners.
- We succeed by providing remarkable results, a fantastic experience to our clients, and improving the lives of our workers.
The final answer changes as circumstances alter from week to week – because goals mean nothing if you aren’t responding to what is happening right now.
We Act On Growing Concerns Now – Not Later
Our weekly meetings are meant to keep small issues from becoming large concerns. If a roofing job needs extra attention, this is the time to create a solution. Or if our latest round of post-project interviews has identified a negative trend in client experience, you can bet we’ll be making immediate changes.
Sometimes, all we need to do is to refocus on certain expectations. Other times, we must address an issue we hadn’t considered before. But you can rest assured that, before the meeting is over, we’ll have at least the beginnings of an action plan.
But these items only cover the first half of our weekly meetings – it’s the second half that confuses our competition.
We Spend Time On Personal Development
If you recall, one of the main reasons Clemens Home Solutions exists is to improve lives. Ours, yours, and especially the lives of our employees.
The nature of the home renovation business is such that it attracts a lot of people who are just starting out in life and many who’ve never known anything but living check-to-check as they move from one contractor to the next.
So, we realized several years ago that we owe our workers more training than just how to put together a high-quality roof or install gutters, windows, doors, and siding. After all, the fact that they’re on our team means they already have personal skills and integrity.
We now, and have for years, dedicate the last 30 minutes of every meeting to personal development.
These sessions can cover anything from creating a household budget to being a better parent or spouse. Whatever we discuss, the goal is to help each employee to create a more harmonious life for themselves and their families, which helps to fulfill the demands of our faith.
We exist on this planet to help others – so that’s what we do.
Oddly, We Spend Meeting Time
On Improving Our Training
It should be no surprise that our company is made up of a bunch of builders and installers – even if some of us no longer build or install anything these days. So we recognize that none of us will be making our fortune on the motivational speaking network anytime soon.
So, we always ask everyone on staff for ideas to improve our training system. Our on-hand training center is second to none, but that doesn’t mean it can’t improve. And our personal development lessons, while great, may be missing key elements we’ve not considered.
The main point is that we know that quality only comes from constant improvement, which sets us ahead of most Muncie contractors and way ahead of all roofers. And there is no improvement without asking tough questions and accepting input from others.
If you need help with the exterior of your East Central Indiana home and want it to come from a contractor who only accepts the best from their workers, contact us at Clemens Home Solutions for a free estimate.
