No-Brainer Policies Few Follow

The Policies We Consider Obvious Aren’t Embraced
By Many Of Muncie’s Exterior Home Contractors

That’s Great For Us – Not So Great For Their Clients

The exterior home renovation industry in East Central Indiana is home to many different types of contractors. But whether they are national chains, local successes, or just a guy and his truck, certain policies should be embraced across the board – but they aren’t.

At Clemens Home Solutions, we consider these policies no-brainers and expect every member of our team to follow them to the letter. And if anyone slips, you can be sure we’ll be discussing it at our next meeting.

Cleanliness Makes Everyone Safer

Exterior home remodeling can be a messy business, but that doesn’t mean the mess can’t be contained. If you ever see a home with roofing material all over the yard, you can be certain that it’s not a Clemens crew.

Our world-class installers all know to clean as they go, and they know why – safety.

Messy workspaces breed trouble, and few workspaces involve more debris than the tear-down portion of a home remodeling project. Whether it’s pieces of shingle, or bits of siding, things can pile up in a hurry.

Instead of waiting for the end of the day, we get that mess into a dumpster as it comes down. In fact, during that portion of the remodeling process, we have people on hand whose only job is to keep things as tidy as possible.

In this way, we eliminate tripping hazards and even accidental damage to your property from flying debris.

And at the end of each day, we ensure that our area is pristine. No cords lying about, no random tools left behind, and no nails left anywhere. We even do periodic sweeps with a magnetic broom to make certain no loose nails are lying in your yard.

And then we take our cleanliness policy a step further.

Organization Keeps The Renovation Process Smooth

Our desire to keep a neat workspace extends to our work trucks and trailers, too. Our company vehicles are cleaned out and organized at the end of every day, including daily checklists they must complete before they can clock out.

If you have a workspace in your garage, you know how quickly things can get out of hand – 10mm sockets, anyone?

So imagine what it would be like if you drove your garage around from site to site all the time. You’d have an amazing set of tools, complete with backups, but they’d be spread all over town.

Knowing this, we inventory our trucks regularly to ensure every tool and piece of material is where they belong. And each truck and trailer looks just like the other trucks and trailers, so no matter which vehicle they use, our crews know exactly where to find what they need.

But, more to the point, if our installers are taught to respect their equipment, it’s a short step to instinctively respecting our clients’ homes.

Friendliness Is Encouraged

You may be reading this and thinking, “Well, duh, of course, you want friendly workers.” But you’d be surprised at how many exterior home contractors instruct their employees to avoid all interaction with the homeowners. It speaks volumes about the type of people they employ.

But at Clemens Home Solutions, we require our workers to speak to our clients. So, if you come outside while we’re working, you’ll be greeted by the nearest crew members and asked if you have any questions or concerns they could address.

Plus, the crew leader will go over their plans for the day with you each morning and give you an idea of what you can expect throughout the day.

Now, to ensure these interactions are positive and pleasant, we take the time to train every worker on customer service. We also refuse to hire anyone who may come off as abrasive or unfriendly.

So the chance of looking out your window and catching one of our installers smiling is exceptionally high – and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
